Description
The ShockStop handlebar stem achieves what neither gloves nor additional handlebar tapes do: it insulates the upper body from road bumps and lets you ride further, faster and more comfortably. ShockStop was developed from the ground up for road bikes and hybrid bikes. Suspension, weight, feel and aesthetics have been finely tuned to perfectly complement your bike as well as the busy roads. The ShockStop improves your ride quality immensely without compromising steering response or distracting from the aesthetics of the bike. With the refined PurePivot design, the front wheel can move up and down uneven roads while gently cushioning your hands through the elastomers inside the shaft. The forged aluminium components are extremely torsion-resistant, so you can naturally ride uphill or lake. Restricted range of motion provides just the right level of shock absorption without compromising the geometry or handling of your bike. How does it feel? In a word: gentle. Vibration on rough surfaces is almost completely eliminated and shocks from dents and cracks are drastically dampened. The ShockStop is available with 5 different elastomers designed for the ride, allowing you to precisely customize your driving experience. Racers, triathletes and professional racers can choose firmer settings to maintain a more traditional front wheel behavior, while commuters, fitness fans and distance riders can opt for a softer option and thus more comfort. COMPATIBILITY The ShockStop is suitable for most racing, hybrid and triathlon bikes. If your bike has a threadless shaft, it can be easily replaced. If your bike is equipped with a Flyspring shaft, a separate adapter is required for the Flyspring shaft; steering wheel shaft diameter (fork) 28.6 mm. Handlebar clamp diameter 31.8 mm. Note: steering wheels inclined to the rear of the rider limit the effectiveness of the suspension. ShockStop is not recommended for steering wheels with a hand position (handle) of over 25mm behind the handlebar clamp.
