Polypropylene is a material that is well known for having very good chemical resistance. Combined with a smooth design, this allows the part to be easily cleaned, disinfected or sterilised – This material is also dishwasher safe. COMFORTABLE – More flexible than alternatives and is unique in the way that it can be bent to shape, also offers 5 adjustment positions for different mask styles/people. DURABLE – Can be reused many times and is virtually unbreakable. EFFECTIVE – This product helps to hold the mask against your face more firmly, which consequently reduces movement and gaps at the edge of the mask. RECYCLEABLE – We believe that a person will only ever need one of these due to the attributes outlined above. However, if you feel that you need to dispose of this item, polypropylene is a widely recycled plastic. Current alternatives include: Fabric with buttons, which have limited adjustment and cannot be disinfected as regularly. PLA 3D printed parts, which are brittle and cannot be washed at high temperatures or disinfected easily due to voids on the surface and between layers created in the printing process. It is also worth noting that PLA offers very low chemical resistance (meaning repeated disinfection may affect its properties) and will begin to deform at temperatures around 60°C.
