- OMTP is a 3.5mm interface standard for headphones with MIC, commonly referred to as the national standard. The pin connection is (from the small head): left channel – right channel – microphone – ground (pictured). If the 3.5 interface is used with a DV interface, the corresponding one is (from the small head): left channel – right channel – video – ground (pictured)
- CTIA is a 3.5mm interface standard for headphones with MIC and is commonly referred to as an international standard. The pin connection is (from the small head): left channel – right channel – ground line – microphone (pictured). If the 3.5 interface is used with a DV interface, the corresponding one is (from the small head): left channel – right channel – ground line – video (pictured)
- The difference between the two is that the last two sections of the plug, GND and MIC, are in reverse order. Inserting a CTIA headset into an OMTP device can result in small sound and distortion. If the 3.5 socket is equipped with video function, it may appear, the sound is distorted, the sound is small, and there is no video phenomenon.
- This CTIA and OMTP inter-turn plug can convert the socket with CTIA system into OMTP system through the plug, or the socket with OMTP system can be converted into CTIA system through the adapter.
- The CTIA-OMTP adapter has been added to the product. The audio cable 3.5 plug of this product is connected using the OMTP interface. If your device’s headphone jack is a CTIA connection, you will need to use the CTIA-OMTP adapter. There will be no noise after using the adapter. If your device’s headphone jack is an OMTP connection, you do not need to use the CTIA-OMTP adapter when using an audio cable.
