Description
Pearls were once the most expensive of gemstones, valued for their natural beauty. Their rarity in nature meant that these beautiful organic gemstones were exclusively reserved for a privileged few. However, with the global spread of freshwater pearl cultivation, these lovely gemstones are now affordable. Pearls look wonderful with formal and casual wear, and their timeless elegance means pearls you purchase will always be in style. Pearls are organic, delicate and easy to care for. Wipe pearls with a soft cloth after wear to remove the oils, perspiration and dirt that will naturally accumulate on their surfaces to maintain their lustre, iridescence and surface quality. Only wear your pearls after you have applied your make up and perfume to avoid direct contact with any chemicals in these products. Avoid commercial jewellery cleaners as these will contain chemicals. Avoid Ultrasonic cleaners as these too contain chemicals. Please don’t wear your pearls in extreme sunshine as extreme heat can discolour and dehydrate pearls, causing cracks on the pearl surface. Store pearls in jewellery boxes to ensure pearls are not exposed to other pearls and gemstones, minimising abrasion. Avoid rough, scratchy fabrics such as mohair which will scratch and damage the pearl surface.
