VeloAngle Accessory – Pedal Thread Adapter – Fixed Pin Reference for Bicycle Measurement and Fitting

$0.00

  • Secured to the drive-side pedal threads. Tightening the included nut keeps VeloAngle in alignment with the crank arm. This ALLOWS THE PEDAL AXIS (RATHER THAN THE CRANK AXIS) TO BE USED AS THE MEASUREMENT REFERENCE POINT.
  • THE EXTENDED PIN PROVIDES A STABLE REFERENCE POINT for VeloAngle to rotate between saddle and handlebar measurements. Because the reference point is fixed and aligned with the crank axis, the saddle and handlebar adapter straps are no longer needed to maintain tool orientation. This, along with the fact that VeloAngle’s LOCATION IS MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT, SPEEDS THE MEASUREMENT PROCESS.
  • When measurements less than VeloAngle’s 648 mm minimum are required, moving the reference point from the crank axis to the pedal thread INCREASES VELOANGLE’S EFFECTIVE MEASUREMENT RANGE by the length of the crank arm. This ALLOWS VELOANGLE’S USE ON THE SMALLEST AVAILABLE ADULT FRAMES.
  • The 9/16 X 20 THREAD IS STANDARD FOR ALL MODERN BIKES. Threads are conventional right-hand and can only be installed on the drive (chain) side. To maintain alignment with the crank arm, the pedal thread adapter should be used with the chain disconnected, dropped or with the rear wheel off the ground. MACHINED FROM 303 STAINLESS STEEL.
  • ARCH DESIGN WORKS designs and manufactures bike measurement tools for cycling enthusiasts, bike fitters, race teams and bike rental or touring companies. VeloAngle represents the best combination of the three things users desire most: price, accuracy and convenience. It is designed and manufactured in the USA.

Description

VeloAngle was developed by Dave Archer, a mechanical engineer bit by the cycling bug relatively late in life. Perhaps like you, Dave found the joy of getting new gear was sometimes tempered by the hassle of duplicating the desired fit. To easily and accurately document your existing bike setup for as a reference when trying a new position or different components, getting a fitting, or best of all setting up that new bike. At wit’s end with bubble levels and tape measures, and getting grief for all the lines drawn on the garage floor, Dave took his “there’s got to be a better way” idea through development and into production as the unique VeloAngle tools and accessories.A SMARTER TOOL FOR A BETTER FIT.
