Mounting guide: Small round part to the door, the longer part goes on baseboard, chair rail or positioned over a wall stud; Don’t mount small round part on any hollow core door, or at least put it on a solid spot. If you are figuring out how to remove the base of the magnetic spring base, just insert a couple thin screwdrivers into the holes on the back of the base plate and twist, then fix the base on the wall with installation screws.
