The HotBox 120 is a dual mode power attenuator designed to absorb most of the output power from your amplifier so that you can capture the natural, rich, overdriven tone of your valve amp, whilst allowing just the perfect amount of volume to reach your speakers for recording, pub gigs, jamming or solo practice. Jam is the sweet spot for home use, lessons or social playing: The variable control goes from loud enough for jamming in a small room right down to totally silent. Studio is the sweet spot for recording and jamming: More guts to drive that microphone, but quiet enough that the engineer will love you. With it’s fixed reduction you can be sure to repeat the exact tone over and over again so you don’t need to get all your takes done in one session, or worry about having a different sound at every gig, our latest version, the MkV2 has an improved Jam mode that offers finely adjustable reduction reduction, even more natural tone than our previous models, and also adds a bypass switch so you no longer have to unplug the unit to use your amp at full volume.
