Description
For use by healthcare, clinical and specialist waste collection companies, Farla Medical’s UN accredited clinical waste sacks ensure compliance with European legislation for the collection, transport and disposal of appropriate wastes, as detailed in the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) classification 18 01 – wastes from natal care, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease in humans. Clinical waste for alternative treatment or incineration is classified as Dangerous Goods, sacks for clinical waste must be certified to meet the UN packages standard and be marked with a valid certification mark which identifies the type of waste, design weight, year of manufacture, and certificate holder. Correct segregation of waste is essential to ensure that infectious waste does not become contaminated with other materials. Our infectious waste bags are brightly coloured and clearly labelled, to aid the correct segregation and disposal of your clinical waste. Failure to effectively segregate clinical waste means that the entire volume of waste is treated as infectious, and therefore, must be disposed of at a suitably licensed treatment facility, which results in greater disposal costs for your practice. The orange bags are intended for heavy duty clinical waste which requires a heat treatment prior to incineration and disposal, unlike yellow bag waste, which just needs to be incinerated. As well as the vibrant yellow and orange colours, the waste bags are clearly marked with this disposal information to ensure your staff can segregate the clinical waste further.
