Description
It is a variety of quartz with a colour variing from very light brown almost transparent to dark brown. It is called Alençon diamond, German diamond, Colorado diamond or smoked topaz. In lithotherapy, it is perceived as the stone of responsibility and recentring. It develops the ability to understand the sense of oppositions and diversity in order to find harmony. This stone allows you to access the release plug by giving you deep tolerance. The idea is to no longer separate things so that they do not oppose any more. The indicators and fortune tellers were very inspired by this type of quartz, especially in the 19th century. They liked to use it, because, unlike the clarity of rock crystal, smoked quartz stone prevented the profanes from accessing the mysteries contained in their divination balls. It is very popular in Scotland, mainly for decorating Scottish kilts or adorning beautiful jewellery (brooches for example) or dagger handles called “sgian dhu”.
