Screw pin shackles are short term non-permanent, used in ‘Pick and Place’ apllications, ‘Pick’ (move) a load and ‘Place’ as required. The screw pin must be tightened before each ‘Pick’. For a more permanent or long-lasting application Crosby recommend the use of the ‘Bolt’ type shackles.
Screw pin shackles can be used for applications involving side-loading, though the Working Load Limit (WLL) is reduced.
