If you are working with coloured pencils and want to create a subtle blend of colours then the Derwent Blender Pencil is the ideal accessory. It is a soft colourless pencil made from the binder used for making coloured pencils and allows you to blend two or more colours together to create a new colour. At the same time it physically mixes and smooths the colours so individual strokes and hard edges are softened.
The Derwent Burnisher is a hard colourless pencil which when used over layers of pigment provides a rich polished finish. Burnishing pushes the pigment into the paper and leaves a very well blended, photo like finish. By sealing the image with a heavy wax it gives the image a polished or reflective look and makes the colours appear brighter.
The Burnisher can also be used for the wax resist technique, draw your required design, this will add a layer of wax to the surface, then add your colour. The wax layer will resist the coloured pencil thus leaving that part of your drawing white.
The Blender and Burnisher blister of six contains: 2 x Blender pencil, 2 x Burnisher pencils, a plastic sharpener and a plastic eraser.
