Description
Single-use aprons have become a necessity as a result of the pandemic. They have been widely used by the NHS, hair salons, dental surgeries, kitchens, and vets, to name a few. The problem lies in the single-use nature of these aprons. They are used once and then thrown away, often one per patient, client, or pet. A single clinic, with about 50 patients daily, disposes of approximately 500 single-use plastic aprons a week. Multiply this by all the clinics, hospitals, veterinary surgeries etc, the waste produced is immense. The abundance of non-recyclable plastic waste will stay on this planet for hundreds of years to come. Eco Green Living has solved this problem with a new innovative product. We are launching an environmentally friendly single-use apron, made from post-consumer plastic, giving plastic a second life. The apron behaves exactly like its counterparts, but with an eco-conscience. The aprons have been tested thoroughly in Ireland and are approved by a clinical assessment group. We trialed the aprons and in hairdressing salons, with rave reviews. Lorraine Green, a member of the freelance hairdresser’s association commented that “the apron feels amazing, so much thicker, covers me better and I love that it is environmentally friendly”. Purchasing ethical PPE as a business is an effective way to show customers that you care about our planet. It sends a clear message that your brand puts the environment at the core of your business. This can help boost a company’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and build into an environmental policy. At Eco Green Living, we believe that changes like this from individuals and companies across the UK will start to decrease the ‘plastic mountain’ this country is facing. To further protect the planet, we plant trees with every purchase made, sequestering carbon for years to come.
