Made from a hardwood called Acacia, this handmade wooden shaving soap dish is slightly larger than most.
We commissioned this bowl, it has been made to our exact specifications, the bowl is exclusive to The Executive Shaving Company. The larger dimensions will allow the user more space inside to lather up a hard shaving soap refill puck. The bowl can also be used as a lathering up bowl for soft shaving creams.
Please Note: Each bowl is individually lathe turned and then polished by hand. As a result colour and size may vary very slightly from bowl to bowl. This is due to each bowl being hand made and not mass produced.
Acacia wood is known for its beautiful grain and its hardness making it absolutely the right wood for a shaving bowl.
We were offered oak and teak by the manufacturer but these are very slow growing trees, by contrast, Acacia grows very fast indeed.
An acacia falcate tree planted in Sabah, Malaysia is recorded as having grown 35 feet in just 13 months, averaging around an extra an inch per day in height. Such growth speeds reflect the fact that many of the Acacia species are growing in tropical climates that provide nutrition and rainfall throughout the year. This provides an almost perpetual growing season.
The bowl sits perfectly in the palm of your hand, the lid is embossed with The Executive Shaving Company logo.
