The Gira Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG is one of the leading complete suppliers of intelligent system solutions for electro-technical and networked digital building control. With its numerous developments, the family-run company founded in Radevormwald in 1905 has shaped and influenced the world of electrical installation and building control for 111 years. Gira has given significant impetus to the future-oriented development of smart building systems and to the digitisation of buildings with a wide range of innovations such as the Gira HomeServer from the outset. Gira products and solutions stand for German engineering art, for quality “Made in Germany”, for sustainable processes in their production and as environmentally friendly and resource-friendly operation, for perfection in form and function – but above all for making life a bit easier, more comfortable and safer. It is not for nothing that switches, controlling, communication and security systems from Gira are now being used in more than 40 countries such as the Berlin Central Station, the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, the Messner Mountain Museum: Corones at South Tyrolean Kronplatz and the Banyan Tree Hotel in Manhattan. Thanks to the extensive know-how in the field of plastic technology, Gira now also manufactures complex system products made of plastic for medical technology. The Gira Group also includes the subsidiary Stettler Kunststofftechnik in Untersteinach near Bamberg as well as the affiliations Insta Elektro in Lüdenscheid and the software company ISE in Oldenburg. Together they produce approx. 1,700 employees a yearly turnover of more than 300 million euros. A few years ago Gira decoupled plastic technology from building technology and set up its own business segment. Since then, other companies such as medical technology have produced their products at Gira.
