Description
The P-38 ‘Lightning’ was designed by the legendary engineer Clarence ‘Kelly’ Johnson. The fighter took it’s first flight on 27 January 1939 and joined the fight in 1942. It is one of the most powerful fighter of the Allied during WWII and the nightmare of enemy pilots. Many of the ace pilots owned their glory with the ‘Lightning’ including the best of the best, Major Richard Bong (the one who made 40 kills). The Japanese Navy Marshall General, Isoroku Yamamoto, was also killed by the P-38 ‘Lightning’.
