Description
This tester can be used to identify cables connected to a hub and to test patch or installed cables for shorts, opens or miswires. Plug the far end of a cable that is connected to a live hub into the tester’s ‘Hub Blink’ socket and the led will flash on the hub to identify the port used. When testing a patch cable, plug one end of the cable into the tester main unit and the other into the detachable remote. When testing an installed cable, plug one end into the tester main unit and the other end into the remote unit via the short cable included. The tester will test each pair in turn and one led will illuminate corresponding to each conductor tested. When testing unshielded ethernet cables, leds 1-8 will illuminate in turn. When testing shielded cable, leds 1-8, then G will illuminate.
