Description
Artfully designed amulet made of 925 sterling silver with engraved Dagaz rune on the front. The back is polished smooth. Dimensions: approx. 27 mm high x approx. 16 mm wide, inner diameter of the eyelet: approx. 5 mm. Weight: approx. 5.4 g. Attention: As the pendants are made by hand, there may be slight variations in size, colour and shape. Meaning of the rune Dagaz / Daeg: Corresponding German letter: D. Concrete meaning: day. Abstract meaning: light, enlightenment. Background: runes were used by the Germanic peoples from the 2nd to 14th century, especially for inscriptions on stone. Most of the rune inscriptions are from the Viking Age Scandinavia. Interesting about the individual rune signs is that they not only stand for certain louds/letters, but also for concrete and abstract terms. Therefore, runic science plays a major role in esotericism.
