Cast Iron is susceptible to rust when exposed to moisture directly or in high humidity, in cases where the product may be exposed to moisture we recommend applying a suitable finish such as lacquer or varnish and oiling will also provide a level of protection. Light surface corrosion can easily be removed with wire wool or a wire brush or if you like the more industrial aged look then no coating will be needed.
