Description
Most commonly used on sinks and basin and the fitting is complete with a tap washer. They are suitable for use on both hot and cold taps. Compression fittings are both popular with DIYers and the trade because they do not require soldering. Being made of brass they are durable and reliable. Whilst they are comparatively quick and easy to use they also require no special tools or skills to operate. Being able to work at high pressures their usefulness increases as they can be used for installations that may require occasional disassembly or partial removal for maintenance etc, since these joints can be broken and remade without affecting the integrity of the joint. They are also used in situations where a heat source, in particular a soldering torch, is prohibited or unwise.
