Polypropylene rope – properties and application
A braided polypropylene rope (PP rope) is a durable rope made of synthetic fibers. The cord is distinguished by resistance to external factors and abrasion. It is readily used on boats, yachts, at home, in agriculture, etc.
Durable and lightweight synthetic fibers make polypropylene ropes strong, flexible and very smooth. These ropes are becoming more and more popular in sailing, water sports, home and garden, fishing and construction.
Polypropylene rope combines many desirable properties: it is resistant to UV radiation and can be successfully used in water because it doesn’t absorb it and doesn’t sink, and is resistant to variety of chemicals (weak acids, solvents, salt solutions, gasoline, etc.).
Compared with other ropes, an odorless polypropylene rope is a particularly economical solution.
What to look for: Despite its durability polypropylene rope is not recommended for lifting and transporting heavy loads. For such tasks stronger ropes are recommended, i.e. steel ropes available on other Stanke auctions.
