Trollbeads.
Under the name Trollbeads, the designer Lise Aagaard from Copenhagen designed a jewellery system with collectable character. “Troll” (north. for giant, unhold, magic) comes from Germanic mythology. “Bead” is called pearl. Freely translated, Trollbeads means as much as “Troll-Pearl” or “Goblin Pearl”.
Originally, silver beads with different motifs were strung on leather cord straps. Later, the leather cord straps were replaced with high-quality bracelets and chains made of sterling silver and gold. The distinctive thing about Trollbeads is, apart from the original design, the use and combination of fascinating materials.
The beads are made from quality materials such as 925 sterling silver, 750 gold, gemstones, Italian Murano glass and freshwater pearls. Each bead has its own story, inspired by mythology, astrology, fairy tales, fauna, flora, through different cultures and last but not least through the familiar things of daily life.
