Winsor & Newton University Brush Series
The brushes are artist’s pinsell made of white synthetic fibres with distinctive red stems and white tips. These brushes meet our high standards and are so stiff that they can be used with slightly more liquid oil paints and acrylics, but also so soft that they are suitable for watercolours.
The polyester fibres of the University brushes provide smoother brush strokes than bristle hairs and are therefore ideal for liquid oil and acrylic paints with less clearly visible brush strokes.
The polyester fibres also provide excellent bounce and maintain the shape of the head. The stems are painted five times to protect the natural wood from swelling during use and to prevent solvent from penetrating into the wood.
