DRAWINGS DWS72009 1/72 Fairy Delta 2 British Supersonic Testing Machine Plastic Model
The Fairy Delta 2 is an English supersonic experiment, developed for sub/supersonic flight experiment, and was first flight in 1954.
This machine is a mid-winged sternum triangular-winged triangular-winged with a circular cross-section torso and the engine air intake is located at the base of the wing.
The engine was equipped with Rolls Lois Avon RA.14R with afterburner.
The Fairy Delta 2 has established a speed record of 1811 km/h which is more than 480 km/h recorded in 1955 by the F-100 on March 10, 1956.
Model 1 W774 was later modified for Concorde development projects and now displayed in the United Kingdom Navy Air Force Museum, and the second unit W777 is stored in the British Royal Air Force Museum.
