Make sure you buy inverter which is rated 20% below inverter constant power rating (for resistive loads eg, lights electric heaters) and 20-40% below inverter constant power rated for inductive loads (drills, microwave etc)

Inductive loads can have startup power which is 3 to 5 times their rated power. for example power drill rated 500W will need 1500W to 2500W just to start up. If you use low rated inverter there is posibilty that you will damage the inverter were it will emit smoke due to damage to compenents.
