Assembly instructions. 1. Since the bonnet can not be supported without the two gas struts, it is strongly recommended to ask an assistant to hold it during the replacement of the old units. 2. Using a small flathead screwdriver, release the retaining spring as shown in the image. It is not necessary to remove the spring, simply release or ease it and pull the strut away from its mounting bolt. 3. Repeat for the other end. 4. Install the new strut by simply pressing the upper and lower mounting holes into position. No need to release the spring, simply press into position. 5. Your assistant may need to lift or lower the bonnet to locate the new strut properly. 6. PLEASE NOTE that the struts are always mounted with the piston pointing down.
