Suitable for the following scale(s): B ScaleWIKING miniaturizes a great classic in tanker history! As early as the 1950s, Aral tried to increase logistics in the various sales branches. Powerful tankers were required, which ensured the fuel supply of the ever expanding network of petrol stations, but were also able to supply industrial customers with the greatest possible loading capacity. The Henschel HS 165 T was supposed to be the first front handlebar to compete with common day-to-day vehicles. Extensive tests were carried out with the Aral tanker trailer in Hamburg in order to provide the branches’ vehicle fleets with a tried and tested team for later delivery. At that time Aral was already using magic vehicles from Magirus, Henschel, Mercedes-Benz and also MAN, but new territory was broken with the HS 165 T. Above all, the small turning radius combined with ideal ground clearance in the event of bumps should make the decision to use the front handlebar introduced by Henschel in Kassel in 1955 mature. The Henschel HS 165 T stands for the era of front handlebars that began in the mid-1950s. With the “T” behind the type symbol, the truck builders in Kassel abbreviated the impeccable construction of the “tram version”. The HS 165 T followed its predecessor, built just two years earlier, in 1955. The only difference between the two was the cooling water filler neck, so that the WIKING prototype shows the later representative, who rolled off the assembly line until 1961.
