Allgood Farm Leafy Herbs Expert Soil is a hand-mixed blend designed to promote lots of leafy growth and regrowth for many common kitchen herbs. We use a tried and tested base of coco coir, perlite, vermiculite and sand, which makes a loose, airy soil for healthy roots. We add to this lots of nourishing organic compost, biochar and worm castings – naturally packed with the nutrients herbs need to keep producing new leaves. This soil is ideal for those herbs you buy in pots from the supermarket – you know, the ones that always die after a couple of weeks? Try repotting them in some fresh soil and see what a difference it makes! For best results, thin the plants to one or two per pot at most (supermarket herbs tend to be packed in tight – no wonder they don’t last!). Great for Basil, Parsley, Coriander, Sage, Mint and many more. Salad herbs like watercress and rocket will also love this mix, but it’s not a good blend for woody herbs like rosemary, thyme and lavender – try our Olive and Mediterranean soil mix for those. We really think this is the best soil for growing herbs – give it a go in your kitchen and see for yourself!
