Description

Gene Klein, (born Chaim Witz on August 25th 1949), known professionally as Gene Simmons, is an Israeli – American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, actor, author and TV personality. Somewhere among that little lot he finds time to be the flamboyant and outspoken frontman and bass player for multi-million selling Rock/Metal band KISS.
As a teenager in the early ’70s, he met his future KISS bandmate Paul Stanley, (then called Stanley Eisen), and they formed the band Wicked Lester. In the next few years they would complete the original KISS line up and their self-titled debut album was released in 1974. World domination was not too far off in the future for Simmons and the KISS organisation.
The KISS stage show, even from the early days, has always been over-the-top to say the very least and, in keeping with this image, Gene Simmons could be seen prowling the stage with his very intimidating looking Axe Bass. Simmons designed the Axe Bass in 1978 and commissioned luthier Steve Carr to build the first prototypes soon after.
This is an unlicensed replica guitar.
