ITALERI “LEONARDO DA VINCI” PADDLE BOAT 510003103 on page 945/r/ of the Codex Atlanticus, Leonardo da Vinci designed many devices for the plan of a mechanical paddle boat. One or more sailors can alternately operate the pedals. The pedals transfer the alternating motion to a central gears, where it is converted into a linear movement. A series of transmissions transmits the movement to two large paddles on the boat´s side. The central gear is more accurately described on a different page, 30/v/.
