The OHTO brand was founded in Japan in 1929 and produced inks and dyes at that time. In 1949, the brand produced the world’s first ballpoint pen with a chrome ball tip and in 1964 Ohto launched the world’s first rollerball pen. OHTO is still at the forefront of innovation today and continues to produce all of its writing instruments in Japan.
