The Iron Cross was a military ornament of the Kingdom of Prussia and is one of the most famous German military awards. It was first awarded in Wreslau on March 10, 1813 during the Napoleonic Wars. The Iron Cross was also awarded during the German French War and the First World War. The Iron Cross was awarded for brave in battle as well as other military contributions in a battlefield environment.
